My husband and I have been together 20 years but I’m realizing he’s not a very aware person and has no interest in getting more spiritually connected. I’ve grown spiritually and he hasn’t. Is he ever going to catch up to me? Should I just get a divorce? I don’t think I can live a spiritual life with someone who doesn’t even get it.

While your experience is common, the truth is that you don’t know if he’s grown or not. Only he and his guides do. After all, maybe part of his path is to be who he is…

I was teaching a workshop a few years ago about values. I asked the audience, “Are there any inherently ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ values to hold?” The conversation got very interesting.

The right to life came up. “Murder is wrong” said many. Yet, what about war, self-defense, or abortion?

“Abortion is wrong” said many. Yet, what about in cases of rape, incest, or when it’s medically necessary?

“Freedom is right” said many. Yet, what about when one person’s freedom results in harming another? Or when an under-age child is the one taking action?

The debate was never settled.

By the looks…

I was asked to respond to a question on Quora recently that read: How do I stop being a disappointment? How do I find the will to do my work so I stop being a disappointment to my parents?

My heart went out to this person. How often have I asked the same thing? How often have I worried about what else I could do so that I could receive acceptance and approval? How often have I yearned to feel that deep sense of belonging — especially with my family?

But life has taught me that it’s the wrong question…

Yesterday was a relief. Today, I’m feeling something I haven’t felt since 2009.

When I decided to leave my husband, I had to build my out. With two young kids and no income of my own, I couldn’t just walk out the door the same day the decision was made. Instead, I spent several months in an in-between place of trying to maintain all the normal routines, while also figuring out how to leave safely.

Those months were volatile and fear-filled, and yet, if someone were looking in from the outside, they’d have seen normalcy, laughter, meals made, and a…

One of the hardest things I have to do as a coach, editor, partner, intuitive and simply as a woman who needs to be able to look myself in the mirror every day, is to tell people things they don’t want to hear.

It sucks.

As an empath who also feels others emotions physically move through me — even if I’m only reading their words on a screen — it’s especially hard. It’s one thing to know someone is upset. It’s another to feel their emotions so intensely that it makes you want to throw up.

That’s what it was…

If you want to find out just how creative you can be, put yourself in a situation where everything is working against you, you have to find a way no matter what, and your time is extremely limited… then see how you do!

It wasn’t intentional, but that’s exactly what my partner and I found ourselves doing this past weekend. It’s definitely a story that deserves its own post, but I’ll give you the short version for now.

A Little Background

For years we’ve been talking about shifting our income to mobile streams, moving into the 5th wheel and traveling. …

A few days ago I came across this open letter from Seaside Brewing. In it, the owner mentions a rally on August 8th at which Trump supporters exercised their rights to open carry. Customers at the brewery expressed concern, many saying they would not be back to Seaside — a town that has depended on tourism for decades. Jimmy, the owner of Seaside Brewing, went to a city council meeting and expressed his concern, requesting that the safety and comfort of the community and visitors be the top priority. …

This week has been a doozy, hasn’t it? It started out alright, but then stuff started coming up that made the simplest thing turn hard.

At least, I know it did for me.

My partner and I are putting together another episode for our radio show. We sat down on Tuesday to record the last 5–6 minute segment that we needed. After just one take, we spent the next several hours arguing about what should and shouldn’t be included, why, and how the other needed to communicate better… it was ugly.

Later that afternoon, we had a pretty good follow…
